WYXR’s largest annual fundraiser, Raised By Sound Festival, celebrates Memphis music across multiple genres and eras. It’s a day of free local and regional music that culminates with a ticketed headline concert and after-party.

Curated by DJs with an insatiable passion for the eclectic, Raised By Sound Fest is your gateway to musical discovery. Free from chart constraints, our lineup invokes the authentic sound of our region. .

As a sponsor of Raised By Sound Fest, you’re supporting our mission of engaging, entertaining, and inspiring the Memphis community by providing a platform for diverse voices and creative expression. With more than 1,000 attendees during the day for the free concerts, and over 400 for the headlining concert, your brand will be associated with Memphis arts and culture and reach an engaged and diverse audience.

Ongoing, WYXR is proud to have more than 300 loyal monthly donors and a membership of over 1,100. By becoming a sponsor, you’ll connect with thousands of music lovers and community champions.

“How do you capture the essence of the city that nurtured Stax Records, Sun Records and influential heavy hitters from Al Green to Elvis Presley to Three 6 Mafia? For the folks behind WYXR… you keep your ears open – to the city’s musical past, present and to ongoing feedback from the community.”

2025 Festival Headliner

Like flowers that bloom in unexpected places, every story unfolds with beauty and resilience, revealing hidden wonders.

Vile’s warm, psychedelic style has made him a Memphis crowd favorite, while Malkmus — best known as the frontman of Pavement, whose seminal album Wowee Zowee was recorded at Memphis’ own Easley McCain Recording — made history with his first solo performance ever in the Bluff City and his first Memphis appearance since Pavement’s 1997 tour.

2024 Festival Headliner

J Spaceman and John Coxon

In 2024, J Spaceman and John Coxon of the UK band Spiritualized performed a live score to famed William Eggleston’s 1974 film ‘Stranded in Canton,’ an experimental video project shot in Memphis and New Orleans. The performance was only one of four shows in the United States.

2023 Festival Headliner

Cat Power Sings Dylan: The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert.

In 2023, Cat Power played a rare, powerful recreation of Dylan’s iconic set, only performed at The Royal Hall Albert Hall in London and Sydney Opera House at the time. Her 2006 soul-influenced album ‘The Greatest’ was recorded in Memphis with several local studio musicians.

2022 Festival Headliner

Kicking off our festival legacy, we presented the legendary Big Star.

This exclusive 2022 performance celebrated the 50th anniversary of their iconic Memphis album, “#1,” brought back to life for a hometown crowd. Joining the celebration was Memphis’ own Andrew VanWyngarden, lead singer of MGMT.

Organizations can also purchase a table as part of sponsorship for $250, and a discounted rate of $100 for non-profits. The tables are set up during the daytime performances in the atrium and give representatives from each organization the opportunity to engage with festival attendees and hand out information.
