Dubbed by Rolling Stone as “one of Indie Rock’s most beloved singer-songwriters,” Swiss-born and Nashville-based Soccer Mommy (Sophie Allison) has built a loyal following with her plaintive, confessional storytelling suffused with indie pop/rock sensibilities. WYXR is elated to have her headline the first Friday night Raised By Sound Fest show.
Late Night Cardigan

For those who love biting lyrics and soaring power-pop anthems, Late Night Cardigan is Memphis’ worst kept secret. WYXR has been a fan for years, and you will be too. Look for a new album this fall “One Million Dollars” then catch them on the big stage at the brand new Satellite Music Hall in support of Soccer Mommy and WYXR.

Wednesday (solo) + Patterson Hood
Two Southern storytelling powerhouses join forces for an intimate set to raise funds for WYXR. It’s only fitting that they co-headline the station’s biggest fundraiser since they’re the embodiment of the independent and unconventional spirit of WYXR. This will be the first full show featuring Karly Hartzman (Wednesday) and Patterson Hood (Drive-By Truckers) and it’s sure to be heavy on the Memphis love (they’ve performed Big Star and Chris Bell tunes live) and light on the formality. Don’t miss it.

Sylvan Esso DJ Set

You might know Sylvan Esso (Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn) by their catchy, electro-pop tunes, most recently their incredible new album Ow ∞. The two have also been making waves as a DJ duo with discerning Reddit users describing their DJ sets as “nonstop, absolute riots” and “great bangers back to back.” This will be their first performance in Memphis in what’s quickly become a can’t-miss, fan favorite at the fest. Your after-party ticket gets you complimentary food by Go-Time Group (Fawn, Cameo, Mary’s B.O.T.E., No Comment), wine, beer, cocktails, art experiences and more. Your VIP ticket to Saturday’s headline show of Wednesday (solo) and Patterson Hood includes after party access.

Chanel Beads
An experimental dream pop project by New York-based Shane Levers, Chanel Beads makes their first appearance in Memphis at Raised By Sound Fest. Their June 2026 sophomore album, Your Day Will Come (same title as their first album), earned praise from renowned Indie Music staples NME, Pitchfork and Paste.

Hand Habits
WYXR is elated to present the Memphis debut of Hand Habits, aka Meg Duffy. Their contributions to collaboration and community in the Indie music world are right in line with WYXR. Along with their incredible solo project, Hand Habits, they’ve brought their immense swiss-army-like talents (vocals, keys, bass, guitar, slide) and vision to work by Kevin Morby, The War on Drugs, Perfume Genius, and more.

Out On The Eaves
The current creative venture by Memphis mainstay, Patrick Carey, is a stunning display of psychedelic folk and pop. Patrick cut his teeth in Athens, Georgia, but since landing in Memphis, has become embedded in the local arts scene and has released two exceptional albums as Out On The Eaves. His 2026 release, With No Reflection, is a revelation and was launched at a release party with none other than Bonnie “Prince” Billy.

Marcella Simien + Qemist
On their own, Marcella and Qemist are beloved, prolific and ground-breaking Memphis artists. Together, their powers double. Swamp Soul Queen Marcella’s transcendent vocals soar over Qemist’s infectious, perfectly layered beats and melodies. It’s something to behold. This is the first performance of its kind, with visual and stylistic surprises in store.

What’s new with Raised By Sound Fest?
WYXR’s biggest fundraiser and community event has continued to expand and evolve since the first one was held in December 2022. This year, we’re kicking things off early with a fundraising show at Memphis’ newest music venue, Satellite Music Hall, just across the street from Crosstown Concourse. Soccer Mommy and Late Night Cardigan will perform Friday, December 4 to help raise funds for the station with the city’s soul.
There’ll be free live music from 1 – 6:30 p.m. in the Central and East Atriums on Saturday.

GETTING HERE & PARKING
Where is Crosstown Concourse?
Crosstown Concourse, the vertical village WYXR calls home, is located at 1350 Concourse Avenue, Memphis, TN, 38104, in the heart of the city’s Midtown neighborhood. Be mindful of possible road closures due to large-scale events in the area on December 5.
How will Memphis Marathon street closures affect traffic to and from Crosstown Concourse?
While most of the marathon traffic will be cleared up by 1pm, we recommend avoiding North Parkway until later in the afternoon. You can get to Crosstown Concourse from Cleveland.

Where can I park at Crosstown Concourse?
Crosstown Concourse offers a variety of paid and free parking throughout the perimeter of its campus. For minimal hassle, we recommend parking your vehicle in the garage located directly near the front entrance of the Crosstown Concourse Central Atrium. Secondary options include side street and lot parking adjacent to the Crosstown Brewing Co.

Where do I check in for my VIP wristband?
Go to the table at the south entrance of the Central Atrium and you’ll receive your VIP wristband. The VIP lounge is located in the Crosstown Arts Green Room on the second floor off the central atrium.

DJ AFTER-PARTY
Cap off Raised By Sound Fest at the after party featuring a Sylvan Esso DJ set from 9-11 pm in the East Atrium. The event includes free food and drinks, art experiences and so much more. Complimentary specialty cocktails, wine and beer.

Where do I check in for the Wednesday (solo) + Patterson Hood theater show?
Come to the table near the south entrance of the Central Atrium at Crosstown Concourse starting at 1pm on Saturday. You will be given a wristband that gives you access to the appropriate areas.
How does seating work at the Wednesday (solo) + Patterson Hood theater show?
There are two sections – VIP and GA. It is first come, first served for both sections. You will get a wristband when you check in that defines which section you’ll be seated in. Doors open at 7 pm.

What if I just want to go to the After Party?
Please, do! For only $65, you’ll experience Sylvan Esso’s first ever DJ set in Memphis from 9-11 pm in the East Atrium. The event includes free food and drinks, art experiences and so much more. Complimentary specialty cocktails, wine and beer. Plus, ALL proceeds go to WYXR.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
Crosstown Concourse houses an array of options to eat and drink. But if you’d like complimentary food and drinks during the day and at the after party, you can purchase a VIP pass soon that gets you a premium seat at Wednesday (solo) + Patterson Hood AND the after party.

Will there be merch available?
The WYXR merch shop will be open during the festival in the Central Atrium in Crosstown Concourse. Items including t-shirts, caps, sweatshirts, stickers, and more. Plus limited-edition merch from Slowdown Dry Goods and fest merch designed by Faith Tatum/Archer.
